With a menu that features everything from a Dungeness crab sandwich to a citrus and avocado chopped salad to chili cheese fries, you know Gott's Roadside is a place that has something for everyone.

In 1999, brothers Joel and Duncan Gott sought a new way to approach diner food when they took over a struggling roadside diner in St. Helena called Taylor's Refresher. From the beginning, the restaurant embraced a California-casual cooking style and featured local Napa Valley wines alongside classics like chili cheese dogs and garlic fries.

In 2010, the two changed the name of their restaurant to Gott's Roadside and now there are seven locations throughout the Bay Area. Each mixes equal parts hospitality with delectable and distinctive food. It's comfort food elevated to a new level. While you can still order a burger, fries and a shake at Gott's, you can also enjoy a California twist with items such as a kale salad or Baja fish tacos. And of course if you do want a burger, you can get one with a fried egg, caramelized onions, bacon and arugula, otherwise known as the "California Burger." You can even pair your Pt. Reyes Blue Cheese burger with your favorite California chardonnay, as the Walnut Creek location has its own bar alongside the restaurant.

Highlighting local and seasonal produce, Gott's serves up specials such as watermelon with feta and mint in the summer and fried Brussels sprouts with a spritz of lime in the winter. Both have proven so popular that many regular customers are asking to have them on the menu year-round.

A fan favorite almost from the beginning, in 2006 Gott's Roadside (still named Taylor's Refresher then) received the James Beard Foundation Award designating it one of America's classics.
