Food, family and friends come to mind when we think of seasonal celebrations, especially the holidays, and those are central to this issue of California Bountiful.
We invite you to look on the following pages for

morsel or two about chocolate. Learn about farmers who grow potatoes not meant to be mashed; a family that harvests California bay leaves for cooking and making fresh, aromatic wreaths; and an exuberant young teen who is passionate about his family as well as helping honeybees. Feel the nurturing of a woman who opened a community farm kitchen in her late mother's memory and a doctor-and-wife team who donate their winery's profits for worldwide surgical outreach.
